There was a company whose tagline was "We stock from a pin to an anchor" One day I decided to call and ask for an anchor. I could barely constrain myself. The lady was baffled because they didnt sell anchors.
Not outgoing calls, but incoming did many a time!
Our work phone number was very close to that of both a Pizza Shop & an Insurance Office.
Got sick & tired of telling callers' they'd dialled the wrong number, as they'd abuse US, because THEY wouldn't dial a WRONG number, oh no! They might've been on hold for a few minutes' to half an hour waiting to get through, LISTENING, but not hearing, to our Company's on-hold 'blurb talk', & it STILL didn't register with the idiots' that THEY had dialled an incorrect number! It was hilarious to us, because our Company's work couldn't be further removed from Pizza or Insurance, if it tried!
So in the first instance, we'd take the 'order' (no over the phone payment in those days!), & tell them it'd be there in half an hour!
In second instance, tell them we'd post the 'form' out immediately!
Eventually a better phone system was brought in, & got those annoying calls no longer, but it was 'fun' whilst it lasted!
