Cool. I just looked this up. I've heard of bird eating spiders, but not heard them called Tarantulas before. Common names can be confusing.I don't think we get those down here (Brisbane/Ipswich), more further North or West. Probably a very good thing. I don't like the idea of a bite that can cause 6 hours of vomiting!
I've never met anyone over here who's actually been bitten by one, though I know a couple of people who've been bitten by redbacks.
