Would you take a photo to remind you?

My computer is getting a bit old in the tooth and I have had to take it up to the computer shop.

What I do is take a photo of the back of the computer so I can remember where all the plugs go.

Have you ever had to have your computer repaired, or do you just buy a new one?

Yes I have had to do exactly as you have, and have it repaired.
You did what I did and take a pic, so you know where the wires go.
Brilliant idea,

If it is getting on in years, you may want to get something a tad more newer, and more as I call it 'gut's' inside, in other words a bigger RAM.
Or Mother Board update, it all depends on your budget.
It depends on how old it is and ho much the repair would cost, but yes, I have had many computer repairs over the years. No recent ones though.
Yes over the years I have had many repairs done to computers.

I am more discerning these days as computer and laptop prices have come down the question needs to be asked - will the repair cost more than a new computer?

Also is the fault hardware or software. If it's a Windows issue (and I'm sure we've all had plenty of those) I would get it fixed as I don't see much alternative.

I have a local firm I have been using for years. Computer technicians are a bit like hairdressers; once you find a good one you don't want to let them get away.
Yes but I do not concern myself much about it. Thats for the hubby to take care of.

Yes we once had our desktop computer repaired. The computer doctor came to our house. He was lovely and knew exactly what he was doing. Also, we had our laptop crash recently, so we took it in to the Apple store. They fixed it up no problems and we didn't have to pay a cent. Actually, we technically had to pay $99 to buy a hard drive so we could back up our files, but if we had previously backed up our things, there wouldn't have been an issue.
