airline food, travel

Airline food does not have good reputation. However, some airlines can serve up a good meal.

Have you ever enjoyed food on an airline? What was it and which airline was it?

I don't mind the food, it's made well and I had sandwiches.
A meat dish, and dessert is yummy.

One thing I didn't get was the stupid nuts!!! in pkt's.lol...lol.
On the whole it was fine.
Air New Zealand is a good airline, for my money.
Not really. I think once it was pretty good from Italy to Singapore. But that may have been because I was very very hungry...
Any food that I haven't had to shop for the ingredients and then have to prepare I consider manna from heaven.
Etihad and Emirates serve reasonable airline food, and have lots of it. Qantas A380 has unlimited supply of snacks and drinks which can be a good alternative if the food is not that great. I find there is always something I can eat on the platter that is served. If not the main dish, then the salad and sweets are not bad.
I haven't found it too bad. I liked Virgin's food last time I travelled.

I enjoyed my recent Qantas inflight food - we had pizzas and Magnum ice creams for the middle of the movie on a 12 hour flight, AND help yourself Anzac biscuits up the back of the plane! No complaints from me.

I don't know whether Virgin still charges for food, but when they first started I found their food more than acceptable. Tip: Order a special meal and you will be served first on most airlines. The other passengers will hate you, but tough!
Sat next to a man whilst flying Seoul-London, on Korean Air & he'd a Vegetarian Special Meal served. I certainly hoped it tasted better than it smelt, which was foul!

Quanta' Never had a bad meal yet!!!
Er, it's spelled 'QANTAS'!
There is NO 'U' in Qantas, never has been, never will be.
FYI, it's an acronym standing for........
'Queensland & Northern Territory Aerial Service'..........

Emirates serve good meals. For fussy teens I recommend the vegetarian coz its lots of different flavours on one plate.
The few times I have flown the food was nice once and OK a few more other times. One item was disgusting to me. My wife didn't think so. I guess because she is a chef she could envision what this item could go with and so on.
Have had only ONE meal that was gross & that was on ANSETT in Oct'96 flying Adelaide-Sydney.
It was fish & fillet was still frozen! Yuck! Didn't touch it. Ate what was passable on rest of plate.

With all my other airline meals' I've no complaint.
Bearing in mind I was able to fly First Class, a couple of times & it's especially of these two meals, that I remember.

Was flying Qantas to Singapore in 707 days & had 'Beef Chateaubriand'. It was just superb, as it was cooked on board to your liking.

Next one was flying ANSETT Sydney-Melbourne, last flight of the day, & a Prawn Chowder was served. I was very tired & hungry & this hit its' mark very well!
Well what I may think is good food, others may not, but I enjoy the food in Qantas business class, (staff travel) & also eat the food in cattle class, & take photos of it all. i've never been sick from the food, only once from mixing my 3 drinks which I've never done since! because we're staffers, they usually feed us last. I'm a bit of a slow eater, so I'm only 1/2 way through my meal, when they announce the plane is about to land! I stick what I can, into my handbag, to eat later! I sometimes remember to take along a plastic container! If we have 2 little cakes with our coffee, I'll take those & we'll have them for afternoon tea with my daughter & her partner, when we visit for the week.
