Here in North Queensland,I feel like I am living in a sauna for the entire summer, and it is not overly pleasant,so I would never pay to have a sauna having had this experience for 30 years now!!! The rest of the year is so picture postcard perfect though, that I would never return to Melbourne to live!!!
Yes, 3 years ago my wife and I moved from Edmonton to the Rocky Mountains and rented a house that had a separate building on the property that housed a hot tub and a sauna room. We only stayed for approximately 4 months. Despite the amenities, the house itself was falling apart.
I love having the odd sauna - I stay in until I'm dripping with sweat as it is supposed to be an excellent way to detox (sweating out all the toxins). I feel cleansed and revitalised afterwards - and need a huge drink of water!
Yes. We have one outside, and as it's a chilly Melbourne winter I really could do with getting out and into it. I usually spend 15-20 minutes in there, as I need to be careful with dodgy adrenals.
My nicest public sauna was when I lived in Footscray. Sitting in the same sauna was a man of African extraction. His skin was beautiful, blue/brown, and I could see every droplet of sweat on his skin. Mmm :)
Sauna's are a great way to relax and to feel as though you are slothing away all that dead skin cells. I love inhaling the cedar air too. Makes you feel like you are having a good refresh inside and out.
