Love a spa....my son had one for years and I have used them over the years in gyms. Worried about germs a bit in these public ones but would kept my mouth tightly closed! I think they are very very relaxing...
I went to one at the Berjaya Langkawi resort. Languished in the outdoor slate lined spa pool surrounded by shade trees, and overlooking the ocean. Then into the sauna and shower, followed with a fragrant massage and a herbal tea drink, all very relaxing and very reasonably priced. I could have stayed there all day.
I have a spa under my verandah and love it . We use it a couple of times a week, It's so relaxing, even on a hot afternoon with drinks and nibblies or a cold rainy night even better.I prefer no clothes when there is just me and hubby. They are expensive to heat but well worth it, wouldn't be without it.
I've my own spa and it has been great as I can angle the jets to any part of my body needing relief, or just relaxing. I've also used the public ones at resorts and haven't had any problems with them. As for saunas, I used to use the one at the squash courts I belonged to, but over the years, was not able to take the steam anymore.
I used to use the sauna at a place called Silhouette in the mid sixties in Sydney. I always kept the towel on but lots of older, less inhibited ladies didn't and I felt uncomfortable with that and so stopped going. As for spas/saunas in public places these days, I think germs. So no more for me.
