Yes I have employed both of these countless times.
Even when I had a partner who did so much work on the farm, we had to employ a builder to do renovations though that is more than a handyman. Everything else he was capable of doing and we still had a retired gentleman coming every week to help with the immediate area surrounding the house.
Now that I am single and unable to garden, it is part of a health care service that I receive.
I have to employ handymen all the time for stupid little things -it is really annoying not to be able to do much myself!
Yes,when I was having the huge renovation done,we got a fabulous team in to lop the overgrown Mango tree and clean the whole back yard ! I am totally unable to do any of this type of work anymore. One of my best frienbds is a builder and tiler whio often does things for me to help me out!WOW!!! Lucky me! I am also fortunate in that my neighbour from across the road mows my yard when he does his own!!Since I had to stop working 8 years ago,I have been helped by so many wonderful people, and my son tells me it is karma for all the stuff I used to do for others .I like to thing that this is the truth,as I have always enjoyed helping others whenever I am able to.
I had my own personal handyman/gardener until my gorgeous husband died 2 years ago. He was incredibly capable and could do virtually any job in the house or garden. He was an engineer with a very analytical mind, and was very clever at planning and drawing out any work that needed done round the house and garden. It came as a shock to the system to have to engage someone to do various jobs that have needed done since he died.
No never. We don't have a lawn, & can't employ anyone inside the house to fix everything that needs fixing, as the house it too messy!1 day...1 day! We are able to look after any part of the garden, that can't look after it's self!
