I have done weight exercises at many places, but none at the gym ! I did some at a hospital, have done some at home, but nowadays I am doing them at the local pool. I do water aerobics and using weights is part of the class. Pushing weights through the resistance of the water is a lot harder than lifting weights in a gym, where there is no resistance.
I went to the gym and did this for about 5 years. I mainly wanted to get rid of a sort of bump at the top outside of my legs.
After 5 years, they told me that is the shape of my legs and it will not alter!
I think I stopped almost immediately and spent that extra half hour in bed in the mornings....
I used to do push ups at home. I have always been on the leaner side so i never really thought it necessary. I suppose age is working on me as I now am developing a "dad bod" so I may need to start working out soon.
No,this is not,nor has it ever been,my sort of thing!!! I have had a debilitating illness which makes anything I do painful, and it has been this way since my childhood. I do exercise,as much as is possible for me,but I only do it at home.
Yes I used to go to the gym 5 days a week. Aerobics followed by weight training. I was quite strong. I didn't recognise a man that knew my husband and was quietly observing me. He warned my husband not to mess with me because I was so strong. Unfortunately I did some internal damage without realising, so my gym days are behind me. I am overweight and unfit now. I am hoping my ears don't give me trouble so that I can regain fitness in the pool.
