I cooked one for the first time the other day!
It was quite nice - I usually buy the tins but naturally, the home cooked one tasted totally different.

I'm not sure why people do not seem to cook this as all you do it boil it and peel outside leaves off.

I made a dip with Parmesan and yoghurt I think it was.

Very easy - just boil them with some lemon!

I don't really like artichoke so you won't find me cooking it at home.
Fresh tastes totally different, Lluxi

Yes I have used fresh artichoke. It's taste is so much more subtle than the preserved bottled ones. Artichoke soup is a firm favourite, as well as crab and artichoke salad. Yum!
Yes I have cooked some back in 1976.
I've not, but my had cooked it some years ago.
I don't think I've ever seen a fresh one, let alone cooked one.

I'll give it a miss, permanently!
Never have, never will.
Don't even like the look of it, so wouldn't waste my time cooking one..................
I have never tasted an artichoke. I wouldn't even know how to prepare it.
No, I've never cooked 1, but my mum used too, & we'd dip the bottom of the 'petals' into olive oil, & a bit of s&p which was yummy.

I've not cooked one but have had the most delicious artichokes stuffed with a fine veal mince at an Italian restaurant years ago.
I have never cooked these at all.In fact I cannot recall ever havinfg tasted Artichokes, though I have been told they can be quite delicious when prepared well.
I cooked one once. I enjoyed it and should do it again.

No. I actually don't like the tinned ones so I would be very interested to try fresh. I must hunt one up and have a go.

Rice, I've never seen tinned artichokes, but I do have 2 small jars of them in my pantry. (I'd better look at the use-by dates on them!)

I haven't no, but I love artichoke hearts, yummy!
PS . . does it count if you've choked an arty cook . . . .? ^_^

I've never cooked them, cause I thought if i tried to, I may not cook them for long enough, or I might over cook them. I do have some in small jars in the pantry, to have in Antipasto...sometime. I think they may also be nice with feta.

Ops, I'd already answered, when I thought I hadn't!
