I'm afraid I tend to agree Jonaj. Hundreds or thousands can put their view forward about something however they just abide by their party policies. What we think makes no difference e.g there are so many thousands of people here against the live export trade however both major parties want to continue with it. It's really frustrating.
Oh yes. I have written emails. Our local MP is good in that he has a caravan at the local shops about once every few months, so you can go and see him and discuss matters. In between times, if I need to I can email him.
I contacted our local MP regarding an issue I had with road surfacing needing repair that I travelled over day to and from work. Yes, he thanked me and would have it attended to. Well, as you might guess, nothing happened for a couple of years and the surface worsened. Then one day on the way to work I noticed road sealing equipment near the area I had complained about. The road was resurfaced about 10 metres short of the area I complained about. Still hoping they would come back and do this area, they moved further down the road and resurfaced more road leaving the area really needing repair undone. Two years after I retired they decided to finally attend to my complaint area. Go figure!
Yes I have several times and as I live in England, the replies arrived in envelopes marked with the Houses of Parliament, London which gave me a shock the first time it happened as I hadn't imagined the replies would arrive from there.
Yes but it usually via a petition website that has a standard letter and nearly always about animals e.g. live export trade, live baiting of greyhounds etc. You always get a standard answer - whether or not they pay attention is another thing as they usually just abide by their party guidelines and policies. I don't think they put the view forward of the people who contact them.
