Oh yes, definitely!
When I was younger....much younger...now I have no interest whatsoever and don't even listen to the Melbourne Cup any more--sad to get old and boring!
I used to work at a place where the boss' best friend was a bookmaker. We used to go to the races a lot during this time, and I also went sometimes into the then TAB.
Also my Dad was a horse racing man and listened and bet (over the phone) so many years ago and every Saturday so I grew up knowing about horse racing and betting. At the time it really annoyed me every Saturday!
I have never been a gambler as I figure I always have worked too hard for the money I have!!! I did go into a TAB once when I was with a friend who wanted to place a bet.He was almost a professional gambler and rarely lost much. He had systems which seemed to always work for him very well. But it has never been MY thing at all!!! I have not got a clue haw to place a bet ,whether, online or in person.I don't even buy lotto tickets!!!! I used to share a lotto once a week with a work friend, but we decided it just was not worth it!!
I am actually very content with what I have, which is more than plenty for me!!
Yes, hasn't everyone? I only go to the TAB the day before the Melbourne Cup, & back on the horse names that I like the most, which is usually 5 or 6 of them, with 50 cents each way. I barely win anything! In fact I don't think I've ever doubled the money I'd spent & even if my horses gets a placing, I still don't get my $5 or $6 back, but I find it fun anyway. I just wished I'd put some money on the very 1st female jockey's horse last year, but the horse name didn't do anything for me! Maybe I'll win a couple of $'s in 2 in 3 weeks time on the BIG RACE!
