Oh yes ! My girl friends and I took a trip here a few years back and was perfect. The most enjoyable trip ever where we spoke so much about love, men, make up and losing weight while eating chocolate cakes and yummy food.:)
Yes, quite regularly. I find it a bit commercialised for my tastes, though....especially around Surfer's Paradise, with all those high rise buildings. The central and southern parts are still really beautiful, and retain the laid-back surfie vibe that I love. Even better, if you drive half an hour south from Coolangatta, little beach-side towns like Cabarita are just like the Gold Coast used to be 20 years ago.
Yes I have been there and I remember the last time I went there was with my aging mother who liked the pokies. One night i heard this strange noise at the door and it was my mother who could not open the door as she had a HUGE thing of money. She wanted to prove to me that she DID sometimes win at the pokies as I didnt believe her.
Yes, inlaws are there and a friend lives right on the beach. a crazy, zany and beautiful place if you dont look at the concrete for too long. I think some parts need some serious social re engineering though and hopefully that comes with time.
