A deer farm? Well plenty of farmers near me when I was growing up had deer for venison, we didn't visit them as such but they were there. Venison has always been eaten in England - hunting deer was a normal occupation for hundreds of years and they were a valuable source of food. Farming them is relatively recent I think, but like I say not unusual!
There were also various different breeds of deer at our local zoo in Germany that we visited a lot.
