My bill actually went down slightly the bill before last!

Not quite sure how this is possible -the last bill was up a bit but still not by much.

Perhaps because in warmer weather I have things on the roof and even though I dont get paid much for this electricity, somehow it uses some and my bill is less.

I do not understand how people get $500 bills.

I don't understand it either! My parents in law have 3 people at home and solar panels and their bills are always around $800!
what! wow, that is crazy -maybe not one of the cheaper heating systems -inverter?
i dont see how this is possible!
though I guess i have SOME gas as well

Yes, however I am very frugal with my habits and don't overuse anything or leave anything on unnecessarily, I also pay a bit off my elec and gas periodically before the bills come...

Yes my bill is huge.

I paid $124.40 for 2 weeks last week.

I paid $119.60 for 2 weeks before that.

And that's only to warm one room, our lounge room and we close the doors.
It's also a small room.

I will do without heeps of stuff, but I refuse to be cold at my age.I need my air-con on and that's it.

Mine has stayed about the same, no significant increase. My next bill should be pretty low as I haven't needed to use the heater this Winter as much as I would normally.
Nope.
My bills are usually around the same price

No, if anything it's gone down slightly. The year before that we changed supplier and it went down significantly!
Yes! Power costs in Qld do seem to have risen quite considerably. However,I pay a certain ampount each fortnight, and when the account arrives I am often in credit!
No, it has gone down in fact. We practice lot of methods to conserve electricity
Luckily, we have solar panels, so no electricity bills!
by Lucy
It certainly has but with such a hot summer we did have the air con on more than usual!
Yes it has gone up but they say its due to inflation of the dollar. I really haven't been using any additional energy recently.
Fortunately we are in the position that we were able to take advantage of the Gillard Government initiative to install solar panels. Since then we have not had to pay a electricity account, in fact we receive a cheque regularly.
Being on Centrelink benefits, I get a card from my electricity retailer to pay $50 a fortnight, thereby avoiding a huge bill later that I can't pay in one go.
Even those without this special card could still pay smaller amounts regularly. I have no gas at my current place so everything here is electric.
yes quite a lot also the water bill
