I can't live in a house without the stuff!...yep ours is full of it......love it!
I have had about 2 homes that didn't get much, and the vibe of that house was slightly miserable.

No. It's a cold old hole and I should have put skylights in years ago. I go outside to warm up :(

Rice...darling if that is the case, your life will change if you put a skylight in here and there...even one will make a huge difference... :)

Yes, it may come to that. Or moving house! I really do need a smaller house and a bigger yard. I should get off my posterior and do something about it.

We have a skylight in the hallway and it made the world of difference.

The front part of the house gets sunshine, so that is the kitchen, dining, living areas, where you need the light in Summer and winter. The back part of the house doesn't get a lot of sunlight. We have lots of trees in the backyard. We live in a semi rural area so there lots of trees EVERYWHERE. I like my trees so I don't mind. They provide great shade. The forest starts on the other side of the road, and covers the whole mountain. There are bedrooms out the back of the house, so it is good for the trees to keep them cool and shaded in the Summer. It was important for us that the kids ,as babies, weren't woken too early by blazing sun, despite the block out drapes. We are happy with the position of our house, and don't mind sharing the sun with the trees. Moved here to get away from the concrete jungle when we married.
East through Kitchen, & West through side door, where my cat loves to lie on his big, comfy cushion, & get some Vit D into his bones! Yay!
Yes, there are lots of windows and lots of natural light. I close the blinds at certain times of day or it 's too bright.
Sunshine all around so floor to ceiling shutters in use when it gets too hot to cope with.
Not enough in this freezing Perth weather.
