I do not like litter, and I think litterers are very selfish to blight the countryside with their rubbish, simply because they couldn't be bothered to take it home or look for a rubbish bin. It looks awful !! I would not ever pick it up, as who knows if there are any used syringes hiding in or around it. Some rubbish could also carry diseases, and I am not interested in getting sick for the sake of beautifying the environment. On Clean Up Australia Day, volunteers wear protective clothing and masks to protect against hazardous waste and germs that could be lurking on the objects. I did this one year, as a volunteer. Also, they are issued with a special pick- up stick or strong gloves, so they are not cut, hurt, or infected by the rubbish.
It is beyond comprehension, isn't it? I will never be able to grasp the logic of their thinking. Who goes to places and just hurls stuff out all over the place?! Beggars belief. Pathetic beings they are that care so little for others, the planet and the creatures their *crap* could be killing :((
Yes, litter is a problem and it would be good to see schools do a half a day picking up rubbish, thereby teaching children to pick rubbish up (perhaps even some that they may have littered themselves).
Same with the unemployed - get them to pick up litter.
I hate it, i hate it I hate it! i always pick it up on my 3k walk around where I live, & put it in the approbate bins on my way home, but i can't make my self pick it up anywhere where else, as much as I would like too.
