If they are human they do. My children are now 25 and 23, and I have no doubt that they have lied to me before. But to be fair, I have lied to them sometimes too. I always try to be honest, but I think if we are really honest with ourselves, we will all admit to having lied.
My three year old also baffled me recently by saying some things that weren't true. I had to sit him down and illustrated truthful statements from lies. I also let him know that the worst thing he could do is to tell a lie. Since then he has been keen on telling the truth even when he perceived that he was in real trouble. In these cases I express my strong approval of his honesty while downplaying whatever he had done wrong.
No. They are adults now but I always tried to teach them how important it is to be truthful and how it is so difficult to regain people"s trust when you are found out, especially at work. Sometimes I use to think that I taught my son, in particular, too well whenI. think of some of the things that he confessed to as a teenager! But I am very proud of their honesty and ethics.
