I actually used to do this always but have forgotten lately and the last two thunderstorms we have had recently, I did not turn it off.

I know I should as apparently the lightning can strike the phone line -I also read you should not talk on the land line, but do not know if any of this is true.

Yes indeed!!! I always turn off my computer during electrical storms! I always turn it off at night as well when I go to bed. And I avoid talking on the phone during storms as well. This is something I was taught as a youngster, and it it has stuck in my mind all my life.
Yes I do. I'd be devastated if something happened to it and I lost everything!
I try too.
If It's bad storm, then yes...we have a circuit breaker, but I think better safe than sorry.
I would hate to fry my puter!
I would go nuts!!!
I don't usually turn it off during lightning or thunderstorms.
I do yes.
I don't have a PC only a laptop, which is usually not plugged in. At my parents PC years ago got struck by lightening

We have a safety powerboard thingy, but if the storm is bad and close by I'll switch everything off at the power and unplug (if I can reach to do so). I also tend to turn the computer off at the power each night when I go to bed.
Don't own a 'computer'!
ITablet is 'off' most of the time. Wouldn't use it during a storm, same goes for 'phones!
I've no desire to be 'zapped' & become a 'crispy critter'!
I only own a laptop, We'd only have about 1 storm a year with thunder & lightning, so I leave on my laptop when I go to bed, because my husband uses it for the next 3 or 4 hours, & then he turns if off when he's finished with it.

We always turned off the desktop when we had one but now we only have laptops.
