After having watched Humans I think it was called - YES!
You could barely tell them from real humans and they spoke like you and i
Not in my lifetime but Im sure it will happen and yes, living alone I could probably get attached to such a person as it is the same as talking to someone online who you have not met!
all these people who fall in love online - this is no different as they fall in love with someone they either type to, speak on the phone to before they even meet....so yes, it is possible
When I was a child, my dog sat at the table after my sister left home, in her place. He was so good and he never touched anything. Obviously my parents weren't bothered, looking back. LOL. I speak to my two all the time and they do understand a lot. Julie used to say the same about hers.
Probably. I talk to my vacuum cleaner, washing machine, car, Kindle etc. If it said "Hello, would you like a cup of tea?" whenever I got home, I would be looking at it like a favourite child. Hahahaha. Seriously: yes, I probably would.
Absolutely. I don't see why not. It is something you would see everyday, and doubtless, it would come to know your needs and wants, as well as your routine, over time. I'm sure it would learn to have coffee ready for you when you wake up, and make it just the way you like it. It may greet you and say 'Good Morning ' every day, just like a human would. Robots have the potential to be better friends or companions than humans. Having one one would be great for anyone living alone, providing peace of mind and companionship for the older person, or single people living alone.
I just finished watching Will Smith talking to one! I think it would of course be possible.A few things have to come into play.
Say I was very much alone, no family and just really had no one in my everyday life.
Then yes for me.
I get attached to people in commercials, it is very slight but it happens.
If asked would they be any use in the future ?
yes, there are a great deal of lonely older people. I see nothing wrong with it, the cost may be a problem but it is the same as little girls loving their dolls when young. Talking to them and hugging them, so a robot talking back would be nice for those who have no one.
I'm surprised it has taken this long, and so much money? To bring them out now.
As people, we tend to get attached to things regardless if they look like humans or not! LOL. I could name a few people who are insanely attached to their things. Having said that, I couldn't own a domestic robot - I just couldn't. If I did...I suppose it would be possible to get attached.
