Sometimes yes, I mean, it is going to be on your skin for the rest of your life. The reason I don't have any ink is because I can't think of anything I would still want to look at in the mirror in 20 years time.
Some people pick random designs or choose with very little thought because they just like the idea of having a tattoo, which is something I would imaine they might regret in later life. Tattooing a lover's name seems like a terrible idea if the relationship is new, but maybe if it's your life partner that would be cool. Even if you split up if the relationship was a very significant part of your life you might want a memorial of it even after it's over.
My dad hot a tattoo of a snake and a dager on his arm before he tried to join the navy. We he tried to enlist during the second world war they said he couldn't because he had pinched a apple whrn he was a yoing boy and it was on a police record even though he wasn't charge. He was eight years old. So he enlisted in the army.
The rest of the men in his family all go tattoos and they all enlisted into the navy.
The trouble with tattoos is the permanency of them. I'm sure a significant number of people regret them afterwards particularly if the design is unwisely chosen. I would never have a tattoo and donlt understand people with full sleeve tattoos - don't they have to mortgage their houses to even be able to afford that - where are their priorities.
i think any tattoo is too hasty, even a small one my daughter had on an ankle 20 years ago, she wishes she hadn't done it.
You can throw your piercings in a drawer, change your hair colour - as many times as we like - but that tattoo stays forever, although I do notice a lot of 'tattoo removal businesses starting up.
IMO, Tattoo's are the pits!
Many people getting them must have low esteem of themselves.
WHY would you get 'graffiti' injected onto your skin?
Then you can't get it 'off' easily!
What a dumb thing to do to yourself! Duh!
