Yes, I do think kids should be encouraged for creativity. Definitely not forced though ! These things do help in long run even if you do not take them as your profession. They are quite a stress buster , or something they can do on side except their job when they grow up. It does help contribute to society , be a part of some fun groups and so much more !
Definitely. I don't have kids but all my nephews & nieces have enjoyed doing crafty things when they were younger. It gets them away from the TV & computers & encourages creativity. My 10 year old niece & 8 year old nephew like to play in my craft room when they come to visit. I just show them where everything is & let them go for it.
Yes, the value of making things, particularly for children, is in seeing things transform, and become reorganized. All the better if a range of choices is involved because ideas need to be adapted, evaluated, and this is the process by which insight develops. Developing insight into the way things or ideas are, gives us more comfortable control over all sorts of situations with which we need to cope, and that means less stress if things just dont suit our first expectations.
