Some people write very detailed wish lists with precise instructions on what presents they want, others leave strong hints lying around and some people refuse to say what they would like and wait to be surprised.
Do you tell your partner what Christmas present you would like or have you told them to surprise you?
I don't usually say what I want, because there isn't usually something specific that I want. If there is then I will ask my Dad for it. If there isn't, I wait to be asked, and just say to write a cheque. I'm not keen on people (other than parents) buying me actual gifts because it usually ends up being something I don't want, and I feel guilty they've wasted money, and irritated that I have to find somewhere to put it.
I like surprises however do not like getting something for hundreds of dollars that I would not use.
My last partner of 18 years had no imagination (as well as no sense of decency!) so he always asked me and I got really useful gifts -towards the end of the relationship, he told me to go buy it myself!!
Needless to say I am glad I am rid of this nasty person, and currently have no partner however I would not write a list of things I want -I might tell someone but would certainly not write them a list with prices.
