I haven't bought bread with preservatives in it for ages.
I think Coles also now makes some of their bread without.

I avoid bread with preservatives as it is one thing you can freely buy without these nasties.

I've no idea if my bread has preservatives in it or not - only one person in my house eats bread and that's my son. So I buy sliced bread and pop it in the freezer as it can take a long time to finish a loaf! That way I can take out just one or two slices at a time and the rest stays frozen.
Same here. Other half eats it and I always have some in the freezer for him.

It is now so easy to buy preservative free bread, that I cannot see the point of not having this type of bread. I used to make my own bread, and my stepmother does this every single day!!! I really think I should get into the habit again......
I have not bought bread in quite a while. My bread is all homemade. When my family goes out and eat store bought bread they always mention the chemical taste in it. If you learn the skill bread is not so hard to make and it is cheaper.

I'm happy to buy bread with preservatives. We shop once a week so i prefer something that keeps longer. I do confess to enjoying fresh bread from the bakery more though, even if it is impractical.
Thanks for reminding me...I must be more astute when purchasing my bread...I mainly look for grainy wholemeal (this prob still has preservatives?)

I look for bread without preservatives. If my bread making skills were any good, I would make my own.

I rarely buy bread but when I do I rarely look to see if it has preservatives

I have been buying bread preservative free now for a number of years, also I do not buy cold meat from the Deli for the same reason.
I make my own 5 minute Artisan bread with spelt flour, no kneading, just let sit 5 hours or overnight. If I purchase bread it will be preservative free, soy free and usually spelt grain or wheat free.
My husband eats the Aldi light rye, but I have to now eat the Abbots light rye from Coles, because it's GF. We keep the loaves ion the freezer, so they don't go off.
