Do you stick to just one hairstylist?

Many people are particular about their hair, and prefer to stick to one favourite hairstylist for their regular cut or colour over another.

Do you favour just one hairstylist too? If so, and your particular hairstylist happened to be sick or away, would you choose an alternative, or cancel your appointment and wait for your regular stylist to return?

I have had this problem now for the past 40 years!

Poor me :(

Anyway...some are good........... a lot are Not......I have now found one girl who is wonderful, and is only 104 kilometres away from my home!!!!!!!

Like I found her one day when I had been away for the whole day.I even gave her a big tip.
So now I am growing my hair, because I won't be going to her for another 6 months,'when I go back to the Central coast.

I will not be going anywhere else, because she is very very good.
WOW... she DID do a great cut and beautiful colour. I'm sure your hair would look lovely long too.... until you can get back to your special girl... I find the good hairdressers move on. Did you get her name and contact for future?

Oh yes I know her name and I'm sure she will not move on....she lives in a small town on Central Coast....and has been there for a while :) she likes where she works, and jobs are not as easy to get there..So I'm lucky.

Most of my life I have had the same hair style. A few years ago I decided to layer my hair and now I would never not get layers. When I had my son I felt I needed to do something from myself I changed my hair colour from light to very dark. I love it and wish I had been brave enough to do it years ago! Best thing I have done. Try new hair styles while you still can I say :)
I have had the same hairdresser since the day I was born. She is my parent's hair dresser, and she makes house calls, so there is no need to go out. She knows what we like, is friendly, and there is absolutely no reason to change. Barring unexpected circumstances, we don't have a problem with her being away, because we always schedule our next appointment six weeks in advance.
I've never been particularly fussy with my hair, and tend to change frequently, depending on the availability I can get at short notice. Having said that, I don't really have a hair 'style' that needs much up keep, so I suppose it doesn't really matter where I go.
Good hairdressers are like good men - hard to find but keepers!
I like to change things up now and then. I have had long straight hair, dreadlocks, short hair and a shaved head. I am happy with anything relatively low maitenence because I don't have the time or energy to spend on my hair.
I stick to the same salon (because it's the closest), but don't care who actually does my hair. I only ever get basic cuts, so it's hard for anything to go wrong.
Yes, with a good one. Simple - they get to now your hair and style. That way you minimise repeating yourself when it is time for a cut and/or colour.
Yes...just too nervous to make a radical change.
Recently, I have been to a hair stylist who works from home, charges very reasonable prices and does amazingly good work. I would like to keep going to her. The only downside is that it is difficult to set appointments with her as she is busy as she has a lot of clients, and only works specific hours.
I have had the same hairdresser all of my adult life (except for 3 nightmare hair cuts). My hairdresser has the added advantage of never needing an appointment and is also free. That hairdresser is ME. I won't trust anyone else to cut my hair!

Yes, I go to 1 hairstylist & if she's away, Ill wait until she returns. I once let 1 of the male hair stylists trim my hair, & he left it tripping wet, in the middle of winter! I only need a 1" trim very 12 weeks. They don't take appointments, so I try & get there when theyre opening up on a Monday morning, because i know she's always there on Mondays, & just comes in the other days if shes needed. My hair is just down past my shoulders now, & since Im going on a 5 week cruise next month Im going to ask for a different haircut. Something a lot shorter! It can always grew out again!
I have been going to the same hair salon for years and all the girls know me. I'm not fussed about who does my hair. All the girls know how I like my hair, and they do a great job.
In 1978, a hair salon opened at the little S/C at the base of our estate.
Thought I'd give it 'a go', as Aussies do!

Well, that lady is STILL cutting my hair, as she is the ONLY person who's consistently cut my hair the way *I* want it!

I followed her to various salons over the city, & now, she freelances, so comes to my home! How convenient! No time wastage in any way!

She's become one of my best friends, & we love a 'chat', of course!
My son was born on her Birth Date, so I don't ever forget her Birthday!
How good is that!
