Santa is definitely over worked and under paid, and with so many more demands on him it is a wonder that he is able to deliver all the presents on time. Do you put a limit on the number of presents your child receives from Santa?
I think that the amount of gifts from Santa should be 1. The most common amount is 1, even in movies, Santa gives 1 gift to every child. This does not mean that they only get to have one gift for Christmas, they can get as many gifts as they want/need from other relatives.
We decided that it is important for children to know that the better gifts come from people they know, and have more value to them. Santa's gift are limited, in the beginning to 3, and have now dropped down to 1. Where as gifts from Mum and Dad can be 2 or 3, depending on what they need!
It really depends on the family budget. I only buy presents for family and for my partner. With KK at work, there is a limit of say $10 per person. With presents, it is one each for the adults and two for the kids.
