For French fries made at home, do you peel potatoes, cut, wash and fry them? Or do you use the short-cut and use the frozen pre-packaged ones? Do you fry them or bake them? Or better yet, do you or your children indulge in this fried treat only when dining out?
My children actually prefer the hand-made one, so I do take the time to wash and peel the potatoes, cut them and fry them. However, when we go out dining, there are only a few places which make good fries, so we are quite picky with these fattening treats.
Both. It depends on how much time I have and how motivated I am at the time of preparation. I find that store bought ones always come out more crispy than home-made. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.
My wife normally prepares fries from potatoes. My wife also experiments with different types of potatoes including sweet potatoes. Its been years that I've had fries (at home) prepared from frozen ones.
