I have gone back to pure sparkling white and it is beautiful!

Very "delicate" and clean looking, even though I have several other lovely patterned ones.

I bought these latest online and they were so cheap and so good.

After years of buying sheridan I was disappointed last time I bought them as the elastic wore very quickly, so I no longer buy this expensive brand.

It is somehow refreshing to walk into the room with the sparkling white - well it was until my dogs got in a fight and one rubbed against the bed and there is blood over it now!!!

I have many fabulous Sheridan linen sets, which I bought a long while back. They are still in excellent condition after many years of use, thank heavens!! I am very glad that you have advised me about the newer products made by this company.I shall definitely remember it when I need to purchase new sheets. When we pay so much, even when these are discounted,we expect to get the excellent quality which Sheridan have always been known for. It is very sad to think that even these 'better' brands seem to be cutting costs which is so detrimental to their name. I have also had some lovely Actil sheets which lasted extremely well, maybe I should try this old favourite once more!!

I really rather coloured/patterned doona covers.
I prefer solid coloured doona covers. I would never have white coloured bed linen. It would be too difficult to keep clean. I know it looks lovely and crisp and clean, but it would show up every stain or piece of dirt. Most of my bedlinen is a neutral colour that goes well with all decors. I like natural colours, and have a lot of wood in the house. It looks like a natural environment that suits its surroundings. So no strident colours or strong patterns. Subtlety goes a long way. Understated elegance in everything, including bed linen
I LOVE WHITE!

It is just lovely, but I also have now gone for the more American 'shabby' spreads too.

If one has white, it must be kept that bright white, or it really looks awful...So a lot of soaking in the (nappy soakers) etc.

They are amazing, but should not be used in washers, as they cause problems with the metal in the washer....(just don't use to soak that's all...you can spin and wash after).

White makes things look bigger too :)
what causes problems with the metal?

I have not had problems .....

they say now it will corrode the metal of the washing machine, and that will cause internal problems...so they say DO NOT soak in the washer ANY whitening soakers.

Dark or bright solid colours (burgandy, royal blue, purple). I find white hard to keep looking nice since I don't like bleaching things.
Bold colours and patterns. I have a wonderful Hawaiian themed one which is black, green, vibrant pink and orange with hibiscus, pineapples and parrots which is a fave. I rotate it with 2 other very bold sets, one with tropical fish, the other with gaudy wide stripes.

Have never used white........too much reminder of a hospital bed!

Prefer either plain coloured, or pretty florals patterns.
As purple is my favourite colour all my sheets are purple/mauve and the doona cover as well although I don't feel the cold so it's not being used. I did take out my summer bedspread last night which naturally is a frilled cotton lightweight purple floral one as it's too warm for me to have on the bed in the warmer months so it really dresses the bed as opposedto just having sheets only on the bed.
Though I love the pristine beauty of white,I NEVER use it on my bed due to the fact that my beloved dogs sleep there as well!!! I live alone apart from my dogs so I afford myself this luxury of allowing my fur babies to sleep on the bed. I have for as many years as I can recall had patterned doona covers on my bed.I have lovely relaxing blue tones for my bed linen, and I do like these immensely; almost as much as the impractical pure white which always seems very romantic and special to me.The real problem with pure white is keeping it looking so pristine, and I just don't give myself the extra workload!!.

Like white - it looks fabulous with black and red accents. I also have coloured doona covers mainly black, red and oriental patterns to go with art deco bedroom. So, in answer to question - no preference - like both!
White doonas and sheets scare me. I detest using chemicals such as bleach, so the prospect of keeping whites white and colours bright is a dim one for me. I prefer neutral tones.

I have a pastel coloured doona-cover to match 1/2 of my pairs of sheets, & the b/w patterned doona-cover matches the rest of my sheets.

PS: Mine's a pale pastel flowered pattern, which matches the plain blue, purple, yellow, & 3 shades of the pink sheets. The b/w floral doona cover goes with the white, plain black, & red sheets! No else sees them, so it doesn't matter if no-one else likes them!

patterned. White will make me feel I am in some hotel rather than my room.
