Do you prefer inviting guests over to your place for dinner or taking them out? Why?

There are some occasions when you have to invite friends or family over for a formal dinner, whether it's a treat, returning a favour, or a special event.

Do you find it more convenient to invite guests to your own place and prepare the meal yourself, or do you prefer to take them out for dinner and pick up the tab?

I enjoy cooking for friends and testing out new recipes. So I would have to say cooking at home and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere with candles and flowers. My friends have been with me on this journey for a long time, so I always like to make sure I have their favourite drinks or treats to make them feel special.
It's quite expensive to eat out in Perth, so find it's easier to have guests at ours and cook for them rather than getting hit with a big bill. Plus a lot of our friends have kids now and so enjoy the relaxed home environment rather than eating out. When we do eat out, we tend to split the bill with friends.
Both - it depends on the occasion!
Out, so you can all enjoy it (as long as there isn't a tribe of them)
I prefer eating out with friends. I do enjoy being in the kitchen, but I can also get a little bit stressed when I'm entertaining. Eating out means I get to enjoy something delicious that someone else has prepared, but it also means that I can give my guests my full attention.
It depends on how you feel at any given moment. Depends on how organised you are. Personally, its great to take them out.
I prefer inviting guests over because taking them out is expensive and cooking for someone feels like a nice thing to do. Also, I feel we can relax more at home and it's more convenient with young kids because you can put them to bed then go on socialising.
I love cooking and entertaining and would prefer having dinner parties at home to taking my guests out for a meal.If time is an issue I would get my party catered for, but still would have it at home.
I love cooking however also love going out, but with visitors I would generally cook.
