I prefer drinking out of a glass. It somehow feels cleaner.

Do you have a preference when it comes to cups or glasses? Does it depend on what you are drinking?

Glass, definitely. Or porcelain!
I can't think of any drink where I would prefer to drink out of plastic. I associate plastic cups with music festivals and nightclubs, not really drinking for pleasure but just to stay hydrated.
I wouldn't drink a hot chocolate out of a glass, it just may crack.
I hate any hot drinks in any kind of glassware.

I love good bone china for all Hot drink's.

I have really nice glasses for cool to cold drinks.
That's what I need, some nice glasses. I do have really cute Elvis tumblers, but my husband doesn't like them. :(

Have to use plastic cups inside Auditoria of Arts Complex. I only drink Diet Coke, so that's ok.

Much prefer a glass. It makes the drink taste nicer, and is more comfortable to drink from.
I have to agree on the taste. I thought I was being a bit neurotic, but turns out I'm not alone, lol.

Texture does affect your experience of the taste, and plastic just doesn't have a nice texture to put in your mouth.
Actually I prefer ceramic of glazed clay LOL
I've never tried drinking out of glazed clay. May have to now. ;)

I do not drink out of plastic cups -I do have some but these are for my young grandchildren.

And even of of my grandchildren object to the plastic this week as said it hurt her lips, so definitely not plastic.

I cannot imagine drinking a cup of my lovely cappuccino in a plastic cup, or even a "bubbly" water which I make out of plastic -it just would not taste the same!

It doesn't matter to me much really. But I think I would prefer drinking from a glass than from plastic.
I like to drink water and other cold drinks from a glass. I like to drink hot drinks from a china item, but not pottery even though I love the look of pottery. I do not like to drink from polystyrene or cardboard take away cups. The cappuccino doesn't taste the same and I do not enjoy the experience. I do not like to drink from plastic. A hot drink from a plastic cup tastes of the plastic. Yuk. I am not a fussy person but I think it makes a big difference what you drink from.
I prefer to drink out of a glass. It seems cleaner and, I suppose, more like having a drink at home. Plastic cups seem so flimsy and I always feel as though I am going to spill the drink inside. I don't feel that way about the takeaway coffee cups, as they are much sturdier. If you are away from home, you have to drink out of whatever drinking vessel that is given to you, and I don't mind.
Arts complex allows you to take drinks into Auditorium, but only in plastic cups. I agree with that for safety reasons.

At home I like to have my liquid in cold glass from the freezer, ranging from water to soft drink to cordial.

Other liquids from ceramic mugs ok, but tea only in a proper tea cup, from proper tea pot!

Wine from very good quality specific wine glasses.
Given the choice - glass.
I've beautiful glassware and bone china which I love drinking from. I loathe drinking out of plastic, or paper, cups for that matter. I also refuse to drink from a can unless there is a straw provided but I would ask for a plastic cup if one was available to avoid drinking straight from a can.
I loathe cans too. I always feel they are dirty so it's a straw for me too but I avoid cans.

Only glass, esp' for sparkling wine! But plastic cups are better to take on picnics & is certainly lighter in weight to carry! My daughter never had her little daughters drinking out of plastic cups, & no glasses were broken either!
