I have a diamond engagement ring and diamond wedding ring which were both bought for me by my husband. I don't think I've bought diamonds for myself, but I also own a diamond necklace that was also a gift for me. I do think diamonds are classic and very beautiful but I tend to buy myself costume jewellery and beaded necklaces as I find they are more colourful and help to dress up an outfit.
Oh! Finy....my maternal Grandmother gave her Engagement ring of a couple of tiny Diamonds, to my boyfriend, three days before she died. That night, he proposed! Nana must've known something!
A few years' later, with that ring, & Diamonds from my late Mother, I had a longitudinal Diamond ring made, graduating tiny, medium & large, from front to back, & the two tiny Diamonds, on the shoulder. My design.
It looks so stunning, & unusual, of course.
I love wearing it, as it reminds me of two of the strong women in my family.
I miss them both terribly.
Yes! Lucky me!! Though I paid for almost all of them myself!!The first thing I bought when I began working was a pair of antique diamond earrings which cost me 4 weeks wages! Not much really, when I think how very little I earned in the late 70's as an apprentice!! The last piece I bought was a stunning Argyle Yellow diamond which my jeweller had acquired and made into a very beautiful ring.He let me pay it off over a very long,drawn-out Lay By!Bless him! But I do not war any jewellery at all now as I am far too swollen to be comfortable when it's been on for more than half an hour.
I have a diamond ring given by my husband and some diamond jewelleries that I bought them to reward myself for working so hard on jobs. However, that's was a long long time ago, and I seldom wear them now.
Yes I had a huge engagement ring back in 1974.
This thing was amazing, and I sold it back then...when we broke up a year later.
The next set of diamonds I got was from my first husband, and there were 3 rings in all.
The last was a huge Sapphire from my second husband with small diamonds.
Yes. Love wearing my beautiful rings. They continually get commented on, as they match AND I keep them CLEAN!
Cannot abide dirty jewellery, & there's much of it out there! Woman at work had platinum rings & hadn't cleaned them in 16 years, she told me! She never took them off....gardening, washing up! They were SO filthy, they were nearly black.....eeewwww!
Solitaire Diamond engagement ring.
5 Diamond Eternity Ring bought on Honeymoon, in Singapore, as I loved the Setting!
4 Diamond plus Middle Emerald Cut Diamond, as 10th Wedding anniversary. End of. Run outta money, as kids born within next five years' & ANY 'spare' money went to Private School Fees!
When I was single, went to Hong Kong for work, & bought a deep-blue Ceylonese Sapphire with 3 diamonds along each side, with a beautiful setting!
How weird it was the settings of two rings that attracted my 'eye' & not the precious stones!
I could have had a diamond for our engagement, when i husband to be sent me out to look for 1, but i couldnít find 1 I liked enough to buy. It would have had to have had a very narrow band, as I have the widest gold wedding ring Iíve ever seen on anyones finger. Many years after our wedding, I bought a small diamond ring from a pawn shop, but I hardly ever wear it.
I have lots of diamond jewellery including an original 7 diamond set engagement ring, sapphire and diamond rings and earrings, ruby and diamonds, emerald and diamonds and single diamond drops just a few of what I can recall.
Oh! Vee, thank you! It's really a 'pretty' ring, & goes beautifully with many outfits I wear, especially jeans!
I'll have to wait til a friend drops by, as I don't know how to get photo of it onto this here ITablet!
I'm just a Luddite! Lol!
Yes - a couple of rings with diamonds, not really my favourite thing and I don't wear them. My engagement ring was Victorian with garnets, white sapphires and blue sapphires. I much prefer more unusual stones for my jewellery and have quite a few varied pieces of jewellery which are quite beautiful.
