Even when I was young I was not overly keen on Black.I love colour in every aspect of my life and people actually comment so nicely about it! I do own one pair of dressy black pants which I will always wear with something bright .
Of course I wear black - I'm a Melbournian! :) However I don't like to be in all black. Black pants or skirt and a coloured top with nice jewellery and either black shoes or if possible a matching colour to the top I'm wearing.
I used to wear black only for funerals but recently I bought a pair of black trousers to go with some VERY BRIGHT tops I have. On the whole, I prefer bright colours and pretty patterns and avoid dark clothes.
Yes but trying not to wear black as much as previously.
I do love black dresses (as in pic) but I wouldn't wear these particular ones now being older, would look for more conservative ones (how boring I have become you might say!)
Have many black slacks & culottes, as they my 'de rigeur' wear to the Theatre. Can wear various coloured tops & jackets & outfit always looks good! Usually wear comfy boots!
At my age, comfort is my #1 priority!
I dress for comfort usually; however, glam up on occasion - full length and all the trimmings, including black with beads and sequins! Otherwise ... jewel colours, rarely pastel; black trousers; black cami with bright coloured chiffon or devore jacket ... black is always a "go with"!
black linen pants in summer - just love them.
always loved 'the little black dress' look -
now that i'm older, tend to wear less close to my
face, and have fallen in love with a certain grey, if i can find it in my op shops.
I wear a mixture of black and colour. I do love bright colours and patterns, especially tunics. I usually wear jeans or black pants and sometimes a skirt and this is often black. My tops are almost always bright colours.
Black is very servicable and very easy to wear when one doesn't know what to throw on. I am a "autumn" colours girl but very difficult to find the browns in varying shades any season...orange and reds are nice for me too...and all go with black LOL...
I only tend to use black to accessorise. I love bright colours, and in fact get a lot of compliments from the various mix of colours I use. After retiring I stayed away from "corporate" clothes and what I wear now reflects my personality more. At present my favourite colours are red and orange (not necessarily together). I do like a "pop" of colour!
I even try not to wear all black to funerals. I donít like a plain bright colour on me either. I like lots of bright colours on me. I now have 19 bright flower coloured dresses, which I only buy if I like the patterns & colours. In winter, I wear my colourful dresses with black leggings, thick sox, short black leather boats & a black coat & scarf.
On our cruises, I do take a pair of black silk pants/slacks for the 'formal nights' & I wear them with various patterned silk blouses. I also wear the same black slacks & the same patterned top every port day, because it's easier not to have to worry about what I'm going to wear ashore! Then I wash them on the 'at sea' days.
Part 3: After telling myself, that I would NEVER buy myself an all black dress, I DID! Just recently. It was in the same style as my floral cotton dresses & I thought the new long gold necklaces I now have would go nicely with it. I also have a beautiful silver brooch which doesn't go with my patterned dresses, but will go with my new black dress. (I usually only wear GOLD jewellery, but my mother bought my 2 sisters a silver brooch or 2 each, so I had to find 1 to have from her as well! (They're made by our silversmith cousin & her Danish husband.)
