I do not go to many these days, but when I used to do so,I would tend to go to ones I knew and loved! There used to be two in little arcades many years ago,run by family members who really put their hearts and souls into their food.Their little pies in pots were delicious to the point I once asked them to cater a work function! These days there seem to be so many which are much the same that I just do not get that wow factor any more!! My favourite one is quite some way out of town,up in the hills. The apple pie there is the best I have EVER eaten since my late mother made one for me!!
With my job, I have to know of a place others can meet me at, that the food is not expensive.
So....we have found a Bowling Club, and a Club that do o.k.
I like food that is pretty simple, but made well.
Reason being: I find it the best way to talk with my 'peers', and nut out problems that arise, and share a meal together.
I will have to keep looking, as we just can't do the same old-same old!
I'm always up for trying somewhere new. I live in the Barossa Valley in South Australia and there are lots to choose from. I like the quaint little ones that feel comfortable and homely. Oh...and they have to serve good coffee!
I like to try a new cafe and am attracted to those that are a bit quirky. I like to read weekend Notes for recommendations. Sometimes I meet a friend to try out somewhere new and sometimes I enjoy going alone. At times I like to go to one of the local cafes I am familiar with. There are three I particularly like. Friendly service and nice decor as well as good coffee keeps me going back. If I am on my own I appreciate an assortment of magazines to browse through while i sip my coffee.
