I don't bake at all and I'm not much of a cake or biscuit eater, I prefer savoury snacks. My husband and son love cakes and biscuits though, so they often roll their sleeves up and get baking! I am then forced to eat some of the results.... we also take cakes into my son's pre-school for all his friends and teachers to enjoy, so we're not pigging out on cake the whole time :)
I used to do a lot of baking, maybe more than once a week, but now it tends to be once or twice a month. Mainly because we have so much other stuff that needs eating, that we wouldn't get through it all.
I have done in the past when my son was young and then when my granddaughter was younger, now no.....actually not because I don't want to but no one to do it for...wouldn't mind cooking and baking a bit as I get older I have to say...
I uised to do so when my son was little, but these days I have to say that I do not bake much at all. The last time I made some delicious biscuit dough,I ended up eating it before it got to the oven!! Ha ha ha!!! But oh! how very YUM!!!!!!
I bake a lot - I prefer home made cakes and biscuits to what you can buy in the store and they honestly don't take very long at all. I have a number of biscuit recipes I use that take about 15 minutes to prepare from start to finish.
Funny you should ask as I baked an apple short cake this afternoon. I am about to put the recipe on Recipe Yum. I have started baking about once a week. I can use sugar substitutes when I bake instead of buying. When I was working full time I baked about once every 3 or 4 months due to lack of time.
I love baking. So much healthier than store bought! I prefer to cook things that I can freeze as there are only the two of us. I belong to some craft groups so homemade is always appreciated and enjoyed.
Not as much as when kids' were at home.
Occasionally bake a Packet Mix Cake eg Chocolate.
Buy pre-made Cookie Mixture from Supermarket these days, too.
The smell wafting through the house is still fabulous!
No not for a few years now. Not since our oven stopped working! I used to make biscuits occasionally When my little daughters went to playgroup, once a week, I use to make the biscuits for the other mothers, so they wouldn't have to eat the shop bought ones. For Melbourne Cup Day I'd bake a round cake, have coconut dyed green for the grass, & plastic fences & horses, with brown coloured dirt for the track, with tiny plastic Lego flowers on the side of the track also!
I'm always baking for my families. Favourite cake they want all the time is banana bread and they know not to throw out any bananas. Cupcakes would be next followed by anzac biscuits and slices, cheesecake and pavlova equally.
