It is often difficult to find time to visit relatives throughout the year, especially if they live far away. Christmas is a very family orientated time of year so it is nice to see family.

Do you make an effort to visit relatives during the Christmas period?

Yes I am in UK to visit my family this Xmas.
No, not particularly. My family doesn't really celebrate Christmas, so it doesn't seem like a better time to visit them than any other time of year.
We are not a Big family, so being close means we do spend that time with the family every Christmas.
I have family also in another State, but that is a huge effort to see them.....so that really only happens every few years.
Yes, we always visit the in-laws over the xmas period, and my father is coming to visit us from interstate as well.
Yes, but only those living in our state - not that I am acquainted with my family living in other states here in Aus.

As kids' have 'left the nest', we just do 'whatever happens'.
When they were little, we had just time to ourselves & it was lovely, & very relaxingly simple;
Seafood brekky BBQ, fresh ham sandwiches or ham & salad for lunch, roast chook with veggies & gravy for dinner.

When I was little I saw one of my Aunt's literally 'slaving' over a hot oven all day doing the 'traditional' masses of food. My Mum & her other sisters' helped as much as possible, but it was still a HUGE affair, as there was probably about 25 to cater.
I'll not forget one HUGE oven tray coming to the table with just spuds in it! I'd not ever seen something like that! Her d/i/l was at the downstairs oven, cooking as well! I was determined I would NEVER do that, & I never have, or will!

Kids went to see their grandparents with their father. My in-laws' were never interested in me, so I never bothered with them.
