Yes! I always look things up to see if its worth seeing a Dr about.
I do think it's funny that every time I look up anything that's bothering me, google will always give me two options - it's either this OR you're going to die.
I rarely go to the doctor for anything other than scripts or a respiratory infection requiring antibiotics, so I don't have a need to look anything up. If I was told that I had something different to that, I would look it up when I returned home
I don't go to the Dr very often. I am not on any medication so I only go if something is worrying me for too long or I just know something isn't right. I will consult google, but I am careful about whose information I trust. There are some very unreliable sources on the net and the advice can be dodgy.
Once a couple of years ago when my usual doctor was not available I was seen by a lovely young woman doctor. She made no bones about consulting the internet. And turned the screen around for me to read and to make an informed choice about my treatment. She also double checked with my GP who was with other patients before going ahead.
The internet is a useful tool but can be dangerous at times.
Sometimes.......and I have been thinking it's Not a good idea!
Here in Australia, there is No reason for people not to go to the Doctor 1st.....My doc is 5 mins away if I was to walk, and it's just me being lazy.
Doesn't cost a thing?....why do we still do that Dr Google stuff.
Now you've given me another avenue! I'll have to google AND look up this one too lol
Luckily I take google advice with a grain of salt (and I can easily get same day medical appointments in this small town) but others might not.
