I really love unsalted nuts. Cashews, macadamias and brazil nuts are my particular favourites and I love them raw and unsalted. I also like those small peanuts with the very red husk, they are milky and sweet, I just don't see them very often. I don't add salt to my food, in fact I very rarely use it, so unsalted nuts for me, please.
I am a great fan of cashews far more than Peanuts, and like them both salted and Unsalted! I do adore Peanut Butter though!! Yum with a capital 'Y'!!! I also adore Cashew spread, which is like peanut butter but made with Cashews and available now at all supermarkets instead of only at Health Food Stores! I have to also admit that Macadamia nuts are the best of all,in my humble opinion, and living in Qld they are easy to come by,growing in many back yards!!! Oh I almost forgot to mention,I really do enjoy the Honey Roasted nuts of all types as well as plain or salted!! Yes indeed! I am what you might call a real 'nutter'!!
I like a LITTLE bit of salt. What we do is get a bag of salted peanuts and a bag of unsalted cashews and put them in a container. We shake that container so that the salt is evenly distributed. That way, the nuts are only lightly salted. We put nuts in our cooking so we always have some in the house. We usually have one handful of nuts per day as a snack. They make a great healthy snack as do most nuts. If you do not like the salt on the nuts, what we do when opening the packet is to put the nuts in a sieve and shake the salt out of the packet and off the nuts, leaving just a tiny amount of salt. Its amazing the amount of salt that comes out. I like a little bit of salt for taste. Can be a bit bland without it. So one salted, one unsalted, mix them and sieve salt off, result is perfect.
