For those who live in an urban area, spending time on a farm in a rural area can be a luxury. For others, farms are too quiet. There are others who love living on farms. Do you like living on or going to a farm?

Being from the city, I'd love to stay on a farm for 1 month and see the change of lifestyle :) I'd love to wake up in the morning and get fresh milk from the cows and ride horses later during the day.
I'm lucky; I live in an urban area, but live opposite a city farm. Not quite the same as a rural farm, I know, but it is good substitute. I like visiting farms - or at least I would like it (I don't do long distance travel unless necessary) - as long as the smell of manure is not too over powering. Better than the smell of car fumes though.
It is great living in Sydney. You only need to travel 90 minutes and already you're at the farm. Even when living in Melbourne, on the freeway into the city, you could only be 14kms away and see an open paddock with cows and horses. It is great to get away to different scenery - ride those horses and milk those cows.
I would love to live on a farm.

I did back in 1963, and it was massive. My Mother worked as a cook, and it was just amazing to see all that went on.People doing all kinds of jobs, and cows, horses, sheep.Huge barns with hay inside,we use to go climb up all the 'bails' and hide. The smell was something you never forget, nature at it's best!
If I could, I would move to one today.....just the thought of peace and quite would be a dream.I am getting sick of traffic and smell of petrol and roads.
I love going to farms as a change of scenery. I don't think I could live on one though, I'm a city chick at heart.
