I love egg custard with the caramel or toffee over the top.
Oddly enough I have made so many unusual and different recipes as I love cooking, however I have not made this!.
I have bought the shop ones in the fridge section however they are not the same -I have a friend who gave me a recipe for a big one and while it was delicious at her place I still have not made it myself....must remedy that !
I often make egg custard but the cheat's way, with custard powder. I like my custard to be like a sludge, runny but with a bit of substance to it. Not with a skin on top, I'm pretty finicky about that.
Yes I love it. When my chooks are laying it is a good way to use some eggs.
I like baked custard, not too sweet, sprinkled with freshly ground nutmeg with sliced apple in the bottom. Lovely on a winter night.
