Too sweet for some palates, dates can be soothingly refreshing and energizing for others.

Have you acquired the taste for these naturally yummy treats called dates?

I love dates, they are one of my favourite foods. I particularly like Majdool dates, but I also like deri and delget noor. Other types of dates I'm not generally too bothered about on.
I love dates. When I am craving for a sweet dessert, I eat a date or two and the craving is quenched right away and I am saved from consuming all the fatty calories. There were tons of varieties of dates available when we were growing up in the Middle East.
They go back thousands of years.
A good food, and yes I do enjoy them from time to time.
Great to bake with also or in a salad.Plus, they are good for you.
Yes, I can eat a few and then I get sick of them. I have a great recipe for date and chocolate balls which I use the extras for.
Yes I love dates.
In Sticky Date Pudding I do!

I do but I need to exercise discipline because it is very easy to eat too many.
Not particularly.

I would not eat them alone, however have used them in cooking.
Most of the things I have cooked with dates turn out too sweet though, so don't often use them.

Love dates!
Best I've EVER had was at breakfast time, at Nile Hilton Hotel, Cairo. They'd been brought in fresh from the desert!
Oh, yum!
Yum, Donjo, I bet they tasted so much nicer than the packet ones 1 buys from the supermarkets. (I've never been to Cairo, & certainly couldn't have afforded to stay at the lovely Hilton!!) We like to find hotels under $100 a night, where possible.

Hello miro_.........yes, it was part of an Insight packaged holiday to Egypt, incl a 7 day Nile River cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Just fabulous!
We stayed at the Heliopolis Sheraton, near the Airport, as we had to fly out very early the next morning to London, on BA, then catch our QF flight from there to home.

Yes I do. As children in the UK post-war they were a special treat at Christmas time. I've loved them ever since.
Yes, I like dates, & I have 1 chopped up on my cereal every morning. I don't use them in baking, because our oven doesn't work.
