If your washing has not dried by sundown, do you collect it and hang it back up again in the morning or do you just leave it on the clothesline overnight?

Yes. In fact I often hang washing out in the late afternoon or early evening. It's too hot in the middle of the day and I am often too busy in the morning to do it. If I hang it out late in the day it will dry just fine the following day, and it won't go mouldy if it's hanging up. In summer sometimes it's just about dry by morning.
I will leave it overnight 'if' I know it will not rain.
All that taking in, then hanging up...then taking in again,
is only good for the wet season's.
I need exercise, but that is really boring!...lol.
We did a lot of taking down and rehanging under the verandah when we were staying at my husband's grandfather's place. I know all about it, lol.

Yes, when I'm in lazy mode they might be out there more than a day... :P
Me too! But I will collect it on the second day if it happens to be out there longer than one.

Yes, I sure do!

Sometimes I leave it out for 2 or 3 days, and dog blankets etc I sometimes leave out for longer to let them air well!

I once had a friend from another State stay with me, and she was horrified as I did not bring the washing in each night.

She used to religiously get it in every night -was great as it is a job, for some unknown reason, that I do not like, and I like even less, to have to put washing away.

LOL! My mother-in-law is the same way as your friend. It's just not necessary.

Yes. It stays put until dry, however long that takes!
All that's hung out is Doona & sheets. The rest go through dryer. I've got solar power.
Ooo, I see what you did there!
