The enigma code was the code used by the germans in WW2 to communicate with their U-boats, among other things.

It was cracked by a man named Alan Turing, and it more or less brought WW2 to it's conclusion. Without his code cracking machine, D Day could never have happened.

Late last week I went a saw the movie called the Imitation Game and it was brilliant and this is where I learnt about the Enigma Code and what Allan Turing had achieved. My wife read about it in the paper last year.
Yes, I have seen a documentary and a movie and my husband has a keen interest in it so it is often discussed at home.
yes he was a brilliant man and I am ashamed to say the British legal system had him chemically castrated because he was homosexual. Strega
I saw the movie and a documentary this last week and that's how I learnt about him. I'm horrified at what happened to him, and that I had never even heard of him, despite hearing about the enigma code so many times in my life!
I don't know of the enigma code, however, I'm going to find out.
No, not until I saw the trailer for the upcoming film.

Never heard of it before. I like Benedict Cumberbatch and am looking forward to watching the movie. But I will read up on the Enigma Code.
I've just seen the massive book, inspired by the movie, in a small library where I help out. Yet to borrow the book, but I will later this year.
Yes, learnt about it in Modern History at School, back in late '60's.
Have seen a doco. on tv about it since, & will go & see movie, as I think Benedict Cumberbatch is a consummate actor of our time.
