There is a chain store in Canada called The Great Canadian Superstore, and they are kind of like Canada's Walmart, except nicer usually better quality stuff. Superstore always has a deal where if you spend $200 in a single trip you can get a 'free gift'. About a month ago the free gift was a set of stemless wine glasses. Neither myself nor my wife drink wine but the glasses were so nice, we really thought this was a great score. They looked so expensive and felt like they were of a really good quality.
Well we went back to Superstore a couple of weeks later to see the same set, now on sale for $6 each. Guess they fooled us. :)
I have some pretty hand painted champagne flutes we got as a wedding present that I love as well as a pair of stoneware goblets I like to drink mead out of sometimes. Our other wine glasses are just ordinary plain ones though.
I have several, and oddly enough I keep getting more as they come in in the op shop where I volunteer.
However I am going to give the nice ones away as I cannot remember when I last used wine glasses -I do not drink and I have one friend who comes to stay from the country every few months and she drinks however is not worth having all these glasses for one person.
The latest lot I bought look similar to your photo but a bit more elegant.
Mine are both! We have a set of six green wine glasses that look beautiful (similar to that in the picture, only ours are oversized), but I bought them from Vinnies for $2 per glass. Such a bargain, they cleaned up so well and we always get compliments on them.
