I actually do not like this sort of thing i.e. going to the same place, doing the same thing once a week!

The only thing that I do do like that is my voluntary job as I make rosters up, and I go on the same days every week.

I often shop on the same day each week however this is not "locked in" and I change it regularly, and especially if I have something else to do on that day.

I dont like the rigidity of doing the same thing each week.

I wouldn't call it an 'event', but I worked O/T on a Sat morn 8am-12noon, nearly all my working life. Have done various shifts on a Sun., as well.

Eventually reached a point after decades' of doing this, that I preferred to have the Sat off, & totally relaxed whole weekend. Adjusted to difference in income pretty easily.
Health was more important.
I am not one to do the same thing ion the same day or at the same time.Every 4 weeks though,I have to go to the doctor for full check ups and I have blood taken at this time as well. That is abpout as rigid as anything in my life gets!!!
Being in pain ALL the time,I take every single day just as it comes, and make sure that I enjoy my garden at some stage through each day..I never seem to shop at the same time or on the same day,as my neighbour kindly takes me whenever he is going to the supermarket.
When I was in my 20's I used to go to Toastmasters on a Monday Evening, and I truly did enjoy THAT!!! Lots of fellowship and fun with a great bunch of other people of all ages and from all walks of life! Committing to regular things now is difficult only due to my health. But I still have lots of gratifying interests which keep me happy here at home.
I think it is a part of life that we attend certain things, at certain times.

For me only Church is at the same time, same day.I don't mind that as I love going.

My work can be any time or day I wish, and for that I am very grateful.

In my younger years....it did drive me crazy!
I hated going to work everyday, same time..same place.
I then turned to working 2 jobs, part time and that made life better.

I don't go shopping same days....I don't go out same days....I don't do anything same-same-same!

I hate it with a passion.
Oh! jonaj, the look on cat's face is priceless! Gave me a good laugh! Thank you!
Speaking of cats......have you watched any 'Maru' cat video's yet?
My cat's found a new 'hidey-hole'........in a washing basket, on a flat plastic bag, totally UNDERNEATH an old blanket, which straddles said washing basket!

I too have had a smile on my face since seeing the cat in your Photo Jonaj!!!

The only thing I do the same day every week is the weekly grocery shop, which we do on a Saturday.

I do not like rigidity in my life and most of my jobs have given me flexibility.
However church is at set times but I sometimes vary morning to evening and Anglican to Baptist and I have got to know people in both. I do voluntary cooking for 50-70 once a month in the Baptist and love it. Only $3 a dinner and I am doing roast beef cooked in red wine in 10 days time!
I go to the supermarkets at around 5 0'clock once or twice a week to pick up any reduced meat as I am on a low income.
I visit the Toukley neighbourhood shop on a Friday to buy reduced food. Sometimes we have free food. Bread is always free and on a Friday sometimes they have too much and we take excess bread home for our neighbours! Am now giving two recipes a week to the organisers , using produce found in the shop or local specials. They are printing them for the shoppers.
I sadly have too many G.P. and hospital visits that so disrupt the day...but I am very grateful for the Dr's and nurses and medical science.
I get up when I want to and eat when I want to and take as many rests on my bed as I need. I have copper poisoning so life is organised around the effects and symptoms.

sorry to hear that tiny -i have not heard of copper poisoning before.

Thanks Finy.
I have only just found out. It has poisoned my bones, organs and tissue I guess the works! They have also tested Genes and I have a mutant gene which is the likely cause. I retain copper from my food or other source and don't expel it. ST. Vincents Sydney have done many tests but not tests for poison or the Genes. They were looking for Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Artheritis and others with no results. it was a new G.P. surgery and two doctors believed me...I was in considerable pain and had fatigue. There are things I can now take to expel the copper. The mutant gene can cause miscarriages ...I had 3, cancer...I had in 2005 and many other things like the retention of copper. Big thumbs up for my two G.P'S.

Yes. I take an elderly lady out every Monday. We made it this day because we normally go to lunch and a Show, which is only on on Mondays. Once a month, we go out on a Wednesday instead, to a different venue. My best friend and I try to get together every Friday, as it is easier for her with day care and kindergarten. I go out somewhere every day, but I have to make plans that don't clash with these Monday and Friday commitments. People who like to be organised know their commitments, and it is probably easier for them to plan their commitments for each day of the week. I have friends who carry around big diaries. I try to be flexible to a certain extent. You can see me any day except Monday or Friday !!! I have to fit volunteer work and drs visits around my Monday and Friday commitments. Monday is volunteer work too, but she looks forward to us going out that day, and I would hate to let her down by having to cancel. Monday is for her, and we go out shopping as well afterwards, if she needs something at the supermarket or needs to go to the bank.
Yes - I attend a knitting and craft group every Tuesday morning 9-12. I myself am not particularly "crafty" but can do basic knitting. I knit 70" long blanket strips, four of which are joined together to make blankets for the homeless. However, a variety of crafts are carried out at this group. The ladies attending are a great bunch and we have a really good social morning with chat, laughter and, of course, coffee, savouries and cake!
Oh! norma, what a productive time for all the ladies, & yourself. I bet the recipients' appreciate the blankets, as even in Spring, it's cold at night out on the streets.
Bet the food 'goodies' go down a treat with you all, too!

No. nothing at all. We just do the shopping when I run out of something i need.
Oh yes, I do in fact. We go to our local art gallery, to view an arthouse movie, at the same time on Sundays at 2pm, but there isn't a movie shown, during the school holidays. (We just pay $35 each in Feb or March, & see as many of the films as we like, that are shown during the year.)

Like many of you I like to have flexibility in my routine. If I had to do something regularly - like drs visits , I would try to have them at the same time each week. Fortunately I am not in that cycle now.
I donate plasma every fortnight on a Tuesday and try to have the same appointment time so I don't forget. I meet my old craft group once a month for lunch on the same day and time. For me it helps me to remember my appointments if they aren't irregular.
