I have done some painting in acrylics myself but at present don't hve any displayed in my bedroom...I do in other rooms, tend to move my art around. Will try and attach one of my paintings entitled 'Waiting'..it is one of my beliefs that women spend their lives waiting for men...in some form or another.....!
So nice thanks Jona, I think they do look better in a picture than 'in the flesh' as it were! I will definitely do more when I can't get around as I do now, will need things to do when I am old old (older than I am now) Take care....
Most definitely!! I have an embroidery which I did myself, and two paintings by favourite artists which were given to me when I was working in a gallery in the 90's.I also have some framed photos and a lovely copper work done by my son when he was very young!
Art is a big part of my life.
Two. Both by same artist, who was an Engineer on the 'Murray Explorer'. They're pencil drawings of said ship & Murray River Gumtrees. I love them for themselves, but they're also reminders of two fabulous Murray Cruises I had, many years' ago!
Yes, I've always been surrounded by art in one form or another. Recently widowed I am now re-vamping my bedroom art deco style and have acquired several art deco and burlesque prints to suit the new decor which is totally my chosen style - wouldn't have suited my husband though - but, hey, I only have to think of me now unfortunately. My son is very encouraging and says "go for it mum".
I like your painting Finy, & the lovely Van Gough, above. I have a painting of myself, done by my father when i was 5/6. Itís abstract, but you can still see Iím sitting cross legged on the floor. Mostly dark colours. i also have a picture by someone using 125 little: ĎHello, I name is..í & underneath each lot of wording, is 'Miro', made into a tiny picture, on each sticker! it wasnít made for me though! The person deigned it must have liked the Spanish artist, Jean Miro. I was named after him, because he was my fatherís 2nd favourite artist! The other artwork is of 2 Japanese women, with 1 of them combing the other ones hair. I do have room for more art works on the bedroom walls, but some are in storage, & some are in the rest of the house, including 2 small ones by my grandfather who died of cancer in 1913, when I father was only 4.
