Do you have a stand-alone freezer?

Freezing a range of goodies can be a time saver. Not only can it save time, when you have prepared meals and frozen them for the week, it can also save money when you can purchase things on special.

Do you have a stand-alone freeze? Is it a freezer chest or an upright freezer? Or, do you have a freezer above (or below) your fridge?

No I don't but I wish I did. I always seem to be running out of space in the freezer. But unfortunately I don't have enough room to have a separate freezer as well.
I had one a while back, and boy do I miss it now. I would quite easily trade the tumble dryer space for a freezer! ;)
I would love a stand alone freezer.

Sadly I only have one up the top of my fridge, and it really only holds, so much.
One day, I will have one for sure.I won't have a huge one, just something that can hold 3 times the amount my freezer holds now.
Yes. We have both a fridge/freezer and a stand-alone chest freezer. As great as it is, for those times when the family gets together as Happy Mom has pointed out, I would prefer an upright freezer like the one pictured. Too often we've put something in the chest freezer and forgotten about it because it has found it's way to the bottom. I imagine keeping track of food in an upright freezer would be easier.

Yes, we have an upright freezer and a fridge freezer in the garage. We use both a lot. Spare drinks, ice, etc. My husband used to cook heaps and make 12 serves for each recipe and freeze 10 each time and then numbered the containers and left a menu on the door. It was labelled "Restaurante Refrigerante" he called them his frozen assets. He still cooks our own natural dog food so we know what they are eating - so freezer space is so important! We also have a fridge freezer in the kitchen which looks lovely but has no where near the space of the old white ones in the garage.
I have a chest freezer, fairly small but a good size for the two of us. I often cook enough for four and freeze half for another night. In the summer a friend with an apricot tree gave me some of the surplus which I froze. I grew more tomatoes than we could eat and froze the surplus. I like to have a couple of spare loaves of bread in the freezer. I love my freezer.
Hmm... never really thought about buying a separate freezer. We have a two door fridge/freezer, which I find is sufficient for our family at this time. We had a separate freezer at my parents' which came in very handy, especially during those times when the whole family gets together for special events.
Nope. I have a fridge and freezer combined. The freezer is small and fairly empty as I am rarely at home.
As they're bad for the environment, we've opted with a combined fridge/freezer - it is always packed to the gills tho!
We have a huge fridge/freezer. The freezer compartment can hold a months worth of meat at a time, which is just as well considering I only go to the organic butcher once a month. I can't imagine needing any more freezer space than that and we're a family of 5.
I have a chest freezer as i buy all my meat from the farm gate in bulk. I also grow a lot of my own fruit and veg and even though i make jams, pickles and ferment a lot of stuff i like to freeze stuff as well
Yes,.I have a stand alone freezer and I need this purely because I buy frozen dog food in bulk. It does not fit it my kitchen, so is kept in my garage.
I do, of course, use it for other things when my main freezer is full, and as I am an impulse spender, this is quite often.

Yes! I love the idea of a separate freezer, I freeze meat I buy on special which financial is good for me. Love the vintage photo jona, where did you get It looks
like the fridge my parents bought in the 60's. Handy to freeze the left overs it
might be just enough if you are home on your own a meal for one instead of throwing it out. Julia
I have a stand-alone freezer in my garage but until recently, it's been empty and unplugged. I just don't buy in bulk that much.
Used to have a chest freezer downstairs, which was an Engagement present from Mum.
Then ten years later, for upstairs, bought an ALL Refrigerator & an only freezer with baskets in it.
They stood next to each other, & worked really well.

By time house refurbished, 43 yeas from those purchases, they'd reached the end of their lives. They'd served well! The ALL Refrigerator's still going strong!
Nice big chest freezer.
