I have a double bed, it suits me just fine, but I'd love a Queen size, just for sleepovers and so my girlfriends don't have to sleep on the sofa when they come and visit. Stretching out would also be more fun.
I've got a king sized bed which we bought before having kids but its a great size now that we've got two little boys who come in for Sunday morning snuggles!i now dislike sleeping in a single bed and when I've had to sleep in a single, when I've worked away, I've often fallen out of bed.....a real shock to the system when I'm asleep!
We have a queen sized bed. I don't think I would go any bigger. I don't feel there is any need to. The king sized beds we have when we stay in a hotel are very nice, but not necessary in a normal family home.
I have a single bed. Until earlier this year I had a queen sized bed for forty years. I really appreciate how easy it is to make a single bed and almost always make it now. The only trouble is if both the dog and cat want to share, I then wish I had a king single! Lucky my dog is a long haired chihuahua. My bedroom is small but with a single bed there is enough room for the furniture I need.
I had a king size bed for many years but it cost a fortune for linen. Eventually I downsized to a queen which is greag for the cat and I as her bedding is on the side/end opposite to where I sleep. I do regularly change sides for both of us. My former king size is still doing duty at my younger daughter's house and linen is a lot cheaper than it used to be so it's a good recommendation to buy well in the first instance.
