We probably use clichés in our daily conversations without even noticing them.

Some common examples include:
~Fit as a fiddle
~At the end of ther day
~Cat got your tongue
~In a jiffy
~When you have lemons, make lemonade

What is your favourite cliché to use? Or do you try to avoid them?

Cliches don't bother me, though I can't say I have a favourite. Although, 'Absolute power corrupts absolutely' is one I like.

I don't try to avoid them, I think they're a great part of language. I think my favourite is "you can lead a horse to water ...."

and the alternative "you can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think" LOL
