I used to think that I thrived under pressure but the past few years have shown me how much stress can effect you. I stress easily and I normally feed off of it but not anymore. I try and stay chill now. I walk a lot to destress, I find TV is a good escape when watched in moderation, and cuddling with my wife. All good for the soul.
I think to be really honest, I have had more than my share of it.
Maybe a hard life after years makes you, resilient .I feel I have become a lot more stronger in some things.
But, our minds can and sometimes will, make it seem that the world is going to end.Stress comes, and bingo we fall into the trap.
People who deal with it every day, have to keep a far different view on it.They do a check and balance, on the degree of the stress(and problem).
I sometimes work with an ex-cop inside the jail, and not much will faze him....because he knows the levels.
He has taught me a great deal, and I'm better now at some stress.
If I am totally stressed to the Max, and it is like full on, then I go to my bed lie down and pray.(or If at work I still pray). After a few minutes, I'm on the way back to being o.k.
That for me fixes everything big time.
I didn't think I did, but of course if I was really serious and thought about it, I do get stressed when things go wrong.... I'm usually a good planner, but if outside influences muck it up, my equilibrium gets out of whack and I stress. I try and 'go with the flow' and have a "it happened for a reason" attitude these days.
