I don't get mad at people if they do not recycle, however I would encourage people to do so.
I can't pass comment on how local councils get dispose of recycling or normal household waste in Australia, however I know in Ireland where I'm from, we have dedicated recycling plants and not all rubbish is just mixed in together. If you have a lot of recyclable waste that will not fit in your recycle bin, you can go to these recycle plants and pay the equivalent of about $2.50 to recycle newspapers, cardboard, plastic bottles, even batteries, appliances etc. It is brilliant and you can be sure that these things are being recycled.
Yes, I do! To both questions.... it's made so easy for us here, and in every European country I've lived in, there's just no excuse for not doing it. However, I have a neighbour who gets a daily newspaper yet never used to put a recycling box out on collection day, so all his papers must have been going in to landfill. That made me pretty hot under the collar. It's simple to do and so important. Everyone should do it, and if your local council aren't collecting or sorting rubbish properly, then lobby them! That's what local democracy is about!!
We have two bins here, the council collects recycling fortnightly and rubbish weekly. There's no excuse for people to not recycle so it makes me MAD!!! Before they started the curb side collection we used to drive ours to the tip and separate it all into recycling bins there, and I could understand why people didn't do it then, but now it's just laziness.
It really depends on the area. In places where it's made so easy, I don't see why you wouldn't (although I don't know that I'd get mad at someone for it - I'm not their parent, after all!). But in places like where I grew up there is no provision whatsoever for recycling. No bins, no recycling plants, no council that supports it. So people in those situations can't really help it, and it wouldn't be fair to be mad at them for it.
My Rubbish people don't provide a bin for it!
We just have the one bin.
Maybe? they do it at the other end.
I think now most people do what is right, up to what their Council will help with.
If I had 3 Bins like my Son has, then no problems.....but I only have 2.
One for the Garden and one for the Rubbish.
It's out of my hands, sadly.
Jonaja, Could you make enquires at your local council, to be provided with a recycling bin? That just is not right! That's the very 1st time I heard of that. We have 2 recycling bins, because we asked for a 2nd 1, & we didn't have to pay for them either. We also have 3 green bins, but we usually only fill 2 a fortnight. Yes, we do have a LOT of trees around our house & yard, so we have a lot of dead branches, leaves & large pieces of bark falling of the trees.
Q No 1= Yes I do. Q No 2= Yes I do. I also pick up rubbish that has been thrown out of car windows, on my morning walks, & put it into the next recycling bin I see. The owners shouldn't mind as I'm keeping their suburb tidier!
