Do you fill your kettle just to the minimum required or do you waste electricity by filling it with more water than you need?

I do not fill a kettle right up and always get annoyed when people do this either at my place or theirs.

It is such a waste of electricity and of water!

Why not just fill it to the minimum as generally that is way more than 2 cups of tea or coffee anyway!

If I'm just making tea I put in however many cups I need. I'd only fill it if I'm boiling water to do the washing up or something and actually need a whole kettle full. At one of my old workplaces it was expected that you both refill and reboil the kettle immediately after using it. I don't really know what the point of that was since you'd need to boil it again when you actually wanted to use it.
I tend to just use what I need,as I hate wasting any water at all. This goes back to my childhood days living through a major drought
Always half full, so there is warm water for later and it may not take as long to heat up, next time...well it doesn't :)
I haven't used the kettle in a while however when I used to use it I just filled it up.I may need the extra water later on. Even just to refrigerate it.

I am always mindful of saving electricity so fill it up just over the element for a cup of tea/coffee

I only fill it to the top if I need it - otherwise just enough to make however many cups of coffee/tea I am making

I only ever boil how much I need.

Just to whatever level I need at that particular time.
Don't believe in wasting water or electricity! Just too darned expensive!
Only fill to what I need except if I want cold water. My dentist told me years ago not to buy bottled water but rather boil the water and let cool, then refrigerate so I've always got clean, cold water on hand.
I used to fill it until I realised . . *waste* . . . . in recent years it is only just over the minimum line and I also turn the power point off instead of leaving it on stand by.

I don't fill it very full, but if I'm making a 2 cups of tea, I pour cold water in the 2 mugs & heat them in the microwave for 2 mins, & it's done!

I only need to fill the jug if I'm cooking spaghetti on the stove, or to use the boiling water in the yogurt maker container.
